WiFi 6 is Finally Here

WiFi 6e signals a new frontier in wireless connectivity, marking the first time since 1999 that the FCC has authorized the use of a new frequency band for internet use. The e in WiFi 6e stands for extended, referring to the wider channels now available for wireless connectivity.

Both WiFi 6 and WiFi 6e have new protocols that enhance cybersecurity and help users get the most out of smart devices. This sixth generation of WiFi also offers better multi-user data management, which optimizes network use and lets more devices connect without sacrificing speed.

WiFi 6e has all the benefits of WiFi 6, but operates on the 6gHz frequency band. Common devices like wireless speakers and power cables will continue to operate on the 2.4gHz and 5gHz bands, meaning WiFi 6e-enabled technology will have access to a clearer channel and fewer disruptions.
