Position Summary

We are seeking an Entry-Level Network & Wireless Help Desk Technician to provide first-level technical support for network and wireless connectivity issues across the organization. This role is responsible for troubleshooting wired and wireless network problems, assisting users with connectivity issues, supporting network infrastructure, and ensuring reliable access to network resources. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, eager to learn, and interested in developing a career in networking and wireless technologies.

Key Responsibilities

    • Provide first-level support for network and wireless connectivity issues via phone, email, ticketing system, and in-person support.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Wi-Fi access, network connectivity, and internet performance.
    • Assist users with connecting laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other network-enabled devices to wired and wireless networks.
    • Monitor network and wireless system alerts and escalate issues when necessary.
    • Create, update, and manage support tickets while documenting troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
    • Support user account management, password resets, and network access permissions.
    • Perform basic network diagnostics using troubleshooting and monitoring tools.
    • Assist with network inventory management and equipment deployment.
    • Follow IT security policies and help ensure compliance with network security standards.
    • Collaborate with senior network engineers and administrators on infrastructure projects and upgrades.

Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or related field preferred.
    • Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and wireless networking.
    • Knowledge of Wi-Fi standards, wireless connectivity, and network troubleshooting principles.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to diagnose technical issues and provide effective solutions.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

    • CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certification (or actively pursuing certification).
    • Familiarity with Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto or other enterprise networking and wireless technologies.
    • MSP experience

Technical Skills

    • Network troubleshooting and diagnostics

    • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN fundamentals

Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and move network or computer equipment up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to work in office, data center, or field environments as needed.
    • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
